Permissions of Custom Groups not applied

Hi!

I recently upgraded our user forum from version 1.x to version 2.x. However, since this time the permissions given to a custom group are not applied. So if users of group X are allowed to edit their own posts, user C in group X cannot edit his own post. How does this happen and how can I fix this?

is User C in any other groups?

Did you apply the updated group permissions to the specific board profile that affects that board?

Remember, there are TWO sections where permissions may be affected
general permissions (which affects things that have the default settings)
board permissions (which can override the general permissions, per group)
