Hey.

I've gotten my forum all ready for SSL, but I got a nice poof in the face when I get the error
https://www.---.net/index.php?action=dlattach;attach=7;type=avatar  Failed to load

I've been quite frustrated because I can't seem to find the issue with what's been going on. I've used the repair_settings.php. I just can't understand why it's still pulling site images outside of the https I've set up on everything...

Thanks,
The Community

Illori

can you provide the exact url so we can look at what is happening?

The Community

hxxp:www.community-forum.net/ [nonactive]

I'll take it out of Maintenance Mode.

Use repair_settings to correct the path to your themes, attachments & avatars.

A sample image from your website is showing as https://www.community-forum.net/https//www.community-forum.net/Themes/default/images/off.png

The Community

I've done that. As stated. I'll do it one more time for good measure I suppose.

Shambles

Have you added anything into your .htaccess file, regarding your move to https?

The Community

Yes, actually. As per help from my hosts helpdesk, they told me to force users to add:
RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{SERVER_PORT} 80
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ https://www.community-forum.net/$1 [R,L]

-edit: Also, the rerun of the settings fixer helped out the avatars for the most part, but a lot of images are still not displaying.

The Community

I figured it out.

One missing colon was causing the entirety of the site to break. I had
SMF Default Theme - Curve Images URL:   httpshxxp:www.community-forum.net/Themes/default/images [nonactive]

Oh my.

Kindred

yup, that would do it...  and was demonstrated by he first thing Shambles said...

since https//www is not a valid start to a URL, the system assumes that is a local/relative path and inserts the site URL in front of it...
