Email notification when forum goes down

Is there a way to send me an email alert when my forum is down?

Yesterday my Settings.php and Settings_bak.php file somehow got wiped out. I'd like to know when something like this happens.

Any ideas?

that is a bug in SMF. usually if the database looses connection you get an email, if those files are wiped clean there is nothing there to send the email.

I use the free website monitoring service from http://www.montastic.com/
It checks up to 3 url's every 30 minutes and sends an email if any go down, then again when they are back up.
There are paid versions which will check every 5 minutes also.
