Adding moderation buttons

Just wondering how I might go about adding to the list of buttons that are available to moderators in a specific thread.

Where? Bottom of the thread? Per post? Also supporting quick moderation? Permission driven?

Next to the modify and remove buttons on a per post basis.  Only visible to mods though.

Direct edit to Display.template.php, and shown "only to mods" is vague as there are various types of "moderator".

Ummm.    Both modify and remove are included by default...   If they are not for you, then try the default theme...

they are adding something NEAR those buttons. nothing has been mentioned that they are missing.
