Permissions clarification

Does a "board permission profile" settings (default, no reply, etc) override "general permissions" settings?

In general permissions, I had allowed users to modify their own post. However, it was not talking in effect. When I modified the "Default" board permissions for that member group, then it worked. I'm only using A & X for permissions - not D.

So that means when I need to modify permissions for a group, I need to do it in both sections in order for it to take in effect?

do you have a setting to allow editing for a specific amount of time set? if so that will override a setting you may make per board for editing. otherwise a per board profile will be the only set of permissions that applies to that board.

No, I did not - but after messing with the permissions tonight, I figured it all out. I'm really impressed with the system. It makes it really easy to make changes.

I also discovered the "Inherited Groups" feature .. which I don't believe was in 1.1.xx?
