Hallo,

maybe the question was already raised but as a newbie I Need some help. Trying to setup SMF on my site hosted by Lunarpages. An Forum exist already XMB which I want later Transfer to SMF.

So I have setup under Lunarpages a new MySQL database called forumtest with a user Name for this database. The username is my Name@ip adress. Interesstingly at the beginning it starts with the genereal username I log into Lunarpages controll Panel - so a quite Long user Name I would say

Now at step 3  I Need to put in

Username
Passwort
database name

doing so - it says No such file or Directory

Any Suggestion?

Are you using Lunarpage's installer, or the SMF install utility?

install.php requires the database name, username, and password for the new database you created.  Has nothing to do with your Lunarpages login.

Hm - that was I'm trying - I have attached the screenshot ...

localhost does not work on all db servers.  Some require the actual server address.

Edit:  Just checked a Lunarpages forum, they are using localhost, so it should work for you.  Try creating a different username without '@' or ip address.

hm - not moving here

Depmod1 is actual the username to enter Lunarpage
forumtest is the new name of the Forum I created under MySql
with Sven as user and new different Password

the  @ with the IP adress was a given from Lunarpage.

You are mixing host credentials, forum credentials, and database credentials - they are all separate.  No idea what you've done.  If you can pm login info for your host account, I'll have a look.

From another test installation on different domain I found out that on servername local host with 3306 is needed. Doing so - using the IP adress given in the Control panal from Lunarpage-  I'm getting still error message "Connection refused"

I assume I Need to raise Topic in Lunarpage Forum
