We have a high volume forum running great on 1.1.__ now for years.  We run treasury and ad mods.

We'd like to go to 2.0.___  with treasury and ad mods.  We are doing this to get better presentation on smartphones. We want the smartphone view to be very basic. Reliability is really important.

Which mod and/or theme is needed to get us closest to this:http://bpdfamily.com/message_board/index.php

can you list exactly what mods you are using? as a guest looking at a forum it does not tell us what mods are being used. a lot of mods for SMF 1.1 have the same mods for SMF 2.0.

have you searched the mod site to see what already exists?

We run treasury and ad mods.

We run the following mods:
*Treasury mod
*Ad Management mod.

1. Do we need a mod (like responsive curve) to have formatting for a smartphone + a theme for a smartphone (like Exodus) or can it be accomplished with just a theme?

2. We need high reliability (high volume board) - which theme would be the best starting point for modifying to look like this - http://bpdfamily.com/message_board/index.php

Those modifications probably requires changes on responsive mod. Your board doesn't look like running with dozens of custom mods/visual changes etc... So it won't take too much time. I say go for SMF 2.0.x and install mods, at worst you have a site partly broken on mobile.

If you take custom theme (exodus), it comes with its own responsive template but the problem is most of the modifications doesn't have its compatibility with Bootstrap, so you may need to fix them by hand (and no you don't need responsive_curve if you have responsive theme).

To be sure I understand. You are saying:

1. Set up 2.0.__
2. Install Responsive Curve Mod
3. Install Treasury Mod
4. Install Ad Management Mod
5. Write code to disable or modify 3-4 in mobile view
6. Make all our "Look like BPDFamily" color / text / graphic changes in the CSS.

... most of the modifications don't have compatibility with Bootstrap

Exodus says that it is employs HTML5 & Bootstrap v3.3.4.  Is this a good theme to use. Or is responsive curve superior?  We need reliability and we are not awash with programmers.

Hate to ask such basic questions, but we depend on you open source guys to do the heavy lifting.

Thanks for the input.
