Really dumb questions

Ahoy there. Trying to establish a private board on a forum. Forty people are on the forum, but I only want to give permission to seven to use the board for now, and later, in a few months, open the board to the whole group.

I've created the board and the membergroup name. Now, how do I put people in the membergroup?

This is a person here who does not read code with any facility. I read menus.

As there's only seven members you want to add to the new group, and I'm assuming they still need the existing permissions as well. 

Visit each of those seven members profiles, click account settings and you'll see a "Show Additional groups" link. Click that and you'll be able to add those members to the new group. and Save.
