themes remain unchanged

hi ..

i've just installed 2.0.11

i have installed several themes i downloaded off smf tricks

the system notifies that the theme install is successful

i go into admin > configuration > themes and layout > manage and install >

under themes layouts and settings it shows these themes in the drop box ..

wrap .. exodus .. blue ..

however when i select one .. ie .. exodus ..

and also reset everyone to exodus ..  .. save

but there is no change .. it still looks like the default curve theme ..

i have tried each theme and with each one the appearance is not changed ..

i click [choose] then preview theme and each looks identical ..

i have changed the setting to disallow users to select their own theme .. and no change ..

i went to my own settings > look and layout > modify profile > current theme [exodus]

but it appears as standard theme ..

why am i having difficulties with this ? is there something i'm doing wrong .. please help .. thanks

Are you hard-refreshing your browser between attempts? (On Windows, this would be ctrl/F5)

yep .. i'm refreshing it ..

even when i go into the [change] pane of

admin > configuration > themes and layout settings ..

where it shows the themes that are available with a screenshot on the right .. they all look the same .. like default ..

maybe the themes i downloaded are not compatible or something

can someone point me to the download location of a known good theme ..

so that i can install it and see if the problem persists ..

Are the themes you installed actually showing as sub-folders within the main Themes/ folder?

yep .. their showing up ..

i am thinking it's maybe because i am using the newer version 2.0.11

and maybe these aren't compatable ..

it's the themes themselves .. not the smf forum that's the problem

but .. i don't like it all all .. so i switched back to the default ..

are there any themes for this version that work ?? where ??

any theme for 2.0.x will work on any other 2.0.x version

got it  ..

there wasn't a problem with SMF ..

only the newest themes are working .. but thats okay .. i got one exodus that's working and it's good ..

i just went direct to this simplemachines site to themes > recent > and tried there .. the newer downloads work
