A Board that only allows topics to be seen by the author and moderating team

I'm looking to make a board called "Reports", and that board would have the following conditions:

• Authors can only see their own topics or posts & posts from staff
• Staff can see all topics & posts

The purpose is to create a "reports forum" where their topic is somewhat confidential (away from the main community responding with comments like "grow up", "why report this" etc etc).

Has anyone come across something like this before in SMF? I know this feature exists in another board software but just curious if it's possible with smf.

What you are asking for is, essentially, a help desk...    So, look at the simpledesk mod
