Merging footer whit info section and background behinde categorys

Hello good ppl,
how can i make my footer merge whit info section,so i want to make footer goes up a little bit(to info section) and make width is the same as info section (see pic belowe)
and how can i make background behinde categories and boards? (see pic belowe).So i want just behinde Category's and boards,myb 10px to left and right.

PlaYBoYcro, do you only want the background shown only on the page your screenshot is from or all over?
