I have taken a look to permission profiles, board permissions, and I wasn't able to figure out, how to, add read only permissions to my just created board.

My point is, being site-admin, I made a log, where I want to be able to have write permission, and I want to add Moderator and our 'Administration' groups.

I want to write down what I just have done with the forum, eg reCaptcha, recycle bin mods, but also, change of font size and etc.

Now I am not able to use read rights only, so it seems. Is it just that simple? I have come to the understanding, that I am not aware of how user rights are distributed.

If someone understands what I am asking for, please respond to this post, giving me directions.

There is a pre existing, default setup for read only profiles...
Or you can create your own.

Then, in the board settings, set the profile for the board to us

if you use the default profile read only, then only the admin will be able to post in that board. you will need to create a permissions profile that gives the permissions you want for that board and apply it to the board.

take a look at

Ah, I see now.

I didn't notice I had to click on the name of the newly created board. From there, I was able to set 'read permissions' and then select, 'Moderator' and our 'Administration'.

What I had to do was;
Open Boards, Edit Boards. Click on 'permissions, on the right of the new created board. Then, I had to look for 'Permission per board', on the left of the highlighted, 'permissions', in the menu bar. Then, I clicked on the name of the new board, and, set the required permission profile. Then on the same screen, I  checked the membergroups that I wanted to give the read permission.

Thank you for the most helpful explantion links, and direction.
