Session verification failed. Please try logging out and back in again, and then try again.

I am getting this error after migration to another host.

Things I tried so far

1) renamed Cookie
2) emptied cache, logs, etc

still, problem persists.

and I get this when trying to post a message:

Your session timed out while posting. Please try to re-submit your message.

issue 1 was solved disabling "Use subdomain independent cookies" in the Cookies and Session

issue 2 was solved following this https://serverpilot.io/community/articles/how-to-disable-strict-mode-in-mysql-5-7.html (you need to have access to your server, does not apply for people in shared hosting)

Kindred

the other way to fix it is to upgrade your mySQL, since the issue is actually due to a bug in the 5.7 mySQL version
