Need help making custom SMF look and feel.

Hello everyone,

I am new to learning how to code and work with SMF and was wondering if someone could help me out here.

For a while now I have been researching and studying how to create a investment forum / stock message board and from everything I have come across every site that was able to succeed seem to have a custom code of some sort.
