SMF 2.0.13 can't connect during installation

I've entered my details which I know to be correct (as I have connected to my databases with other php scripts using the same login details in the past), yet I still receive the following error:

All spelling and etc of my login has been checked, double checked and triple checked, though it still does not work.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

as the error message says you need to reach out to your host. there is nothing we can do here to help you figure out if the password is correct.
