I am upgrading from 2.0.9 to 2.0.10 and I had an error.  I found this http://wiki.simplemachines.org/smf/Error_in_mod_installation which helped me, thank you.  I found the "error" if you'd call it that...

index.english.php... test failed...
replace code: // Version: 2.0.8;
with: // Version: 2.0.10;

That's it!!!

So I go to the file manager, yada yada, and find this code:  // Version: 2.0.7; index

1st Question:  What has changed from version 7 to 8?
2nd Question: What is "index" doing on this line?

This is what the first part of the file looks like:
___________________________________
<?php
// Version: 2.0.7; index

global $forum_copyright, $forum_version, $webmaster_email, $scripturl, $context, $boardurl;

// Locale (strftime, pspell_new) and spelling. (pspell_new, can be left as '' normally.)
// For more information see:
//   - http://www.php.net/function.pspell-new
//   - http://www.php.net/function.setlocale
// Again, SPELLING SHOULD BE '' 99% OF THE TIME!!  Please read this!
$txt['lang_locale'] = 'en_US';
$txt['lang_dictionary'] = 'en';
$txt['lang_spelling'] = 'american';

...

3rd Question:  This "index" is going to keep giving me problems for future upgrades.  Should in be dropped down to the next line or deleted or what?

Any help would be appreciated.  Thank you.

It's present in all my installations so just you leave it alone ;)

Sir Osis of Liver

If that's the only error, proceed with the install, then patch up to 2.0.11 -> .12 -> .13.  When you get to 2.0.13, index.english.php should be Version: 2.0.12.
