Help with tar.gz file - YaBB SE Converter

I posted this question under the original topic a week and a half ago and didn't get a response - so I thought I would start a new topic -

My question -

Excuse the dumb question but what do I do with the tar.gz file? How do I take it from the compressed file to uploading what I assume is inside of it to my web?

I really like the YaBB look and would love to be able to use it with my SMF 1.0.5
