IMHO, there is a more important question: If its really blocked, then why H O S T O N Y or other combinations arent?
Then people can use blocked words with just simple edits like commas or dots or quotes...

Because no matter what you attempt to do, there will always be other ways around it, if people are getting around a censored word, then it's a mods job to deal with it ban those people if necessary or whatever.

Had an instance recently on an Invision bord where the blocker picked up on a town in the UK called S******horpe

hostony was probably banned due to someone spamming the forums about it.

Also, as for censoring, there's only *so much* a word censor can do. The whole point of a censor is to stop people posting things, and it makes it very obvious that a word is banned. If a user purposely bypasses the censor then they should be dealt with by moderators. It's a bit like my proxy server at work. The company put it there to stop me accessing certain sites (Gambling etc). I know how to bypass it, and could if I wanted to, but it's obvious I'm not suppossed to so would expect to get punished for trying.
