corrupted version of 1.03

i have a problem with a smf version 1.03.  to fix this could i go in and overwrite the source files through ftp?  that wouldnt erase the stuff on the forums would it?

What exactly is the problem? Overwriting all your Sources files might fix it, but your mods won't work after that. You should be running 1.0.5 by now anyway...

ok i got a lot of it fixed, but my being a retard, its still not letting me upgrade to 1.05.  how would i do that through ftp?

ftp the upgrade package for SMF1.05 here:

Then, run upgrade.php

ok now it said it was all upgraded and all that jazz... i just cannot get it to come out of the "updating the forum...."  page.  any suggestions?

anyone know how to take it out of maintenence mode?

It's in Settings.php.

It should automatically take the board out of maintenance mode once the upgrade completes.
