I don't ever see this happening to be honest. Keeping the arcade as a mod is the best route in my opinon.

there are so many mods out there
that many people think are gr8
but still SMF will remain as it is
SMF as such is just the software
beyond which you cud always
go on modifying stuff as you like
but that doesnt mean the original should be changed...
if you like the mod, simply use it....

having all the features
liked by all people
would simply make SMF a huge software by size
and thats simple unreasonable and unethical....
