Instant messages -> personal messages (backup 'mod')

Hi,

We recently upgrade from yabb to smf, and it works wonders. We do have a lot of customization and one of those things was a limited PM box. The users also got a backup box.

The conversion did (offcouse) not convert the backup PM's, and i can't seem to find how the IM's are converted in the upgrade process (search upgrade.php upgrade_1-[0-1].sql)
I'm currently writing a small script that would salvage the backup pms for all the users, but without the knowledge of how the messages got converted in the first place, i got no place to start at all.... The backup mod used the readby flag (got set to -1) and the delete vlag to sort the messages.

Can anybody help or comment on the way the messages get converted in the upgrade?
