This is the very first time that I'm making a theme.
I'm no designer or php-coder. So I still have to find my way in it.
So be gentle with me :p
Here's the link for a preview:

But it still needs a lot of work...
Just thought to share it to get some feedback and suggestions :)

Shouldn't you be posting in pink?  :-X

Looks nice, but maybe you should change the on/off images to more christmaslike images.

I got some Candy Cane on/off`s if you want them  ;)

Looks cool.
Hate code. Love burgers

Very nice theme ... But, I recommend to you to make button sets for the 6 principal languages when you finish the theme ...

I love it ... please, be faster. I like to install it at my forum before x-mas.

GOOD JOB !  ;)
SMF ... SimpleMachines ... Simple, but complete if you want it ;)

Foreverpurple

Red background very hard on my eyes....

But I'm interested in a xmas theme ;)

kegobeer

I agree, the red background is too much.  I wouldn't be able to spend any time on a forum because of the eye strain.  Maybe a deep green background, with lighter reds and greens elsewhere.  Throw in some snowflakes, too.

If you flip your catbg`s it`ll look like they`re snow capped.

I personally dislike the red background color a bit, I think it's too bright, it should be a bit darker IMO. :) Second, I would make the buttons a bit more simple, the current ones look too restless IMO.

I'm curious how this theme will look when it's finished. :)

Argh my eyes x_x that red colour is way too bright, lol. And maybe you should give those persons a break who has a red-green colour blindness? ;) Maybe something a bit more.. calmful colours? Like a bit darked red + gold and some candy cane stripes? :)
If you're afraid of the dark, you've never seen what the light can do.

J. Williams

The red colour reminds me of blood :(

Try a sort of candy cane background

What do you mean with it?
Green on the bottom and white on top?

And I agree with the bright red background... It also a bit too bright to my liking.
But a christmas skin must have red and green in it imho.
It are the 2 main christmas colours.

And somebody else will have to do the languages... I only know english and dutch.

Just did it.
Looks indeed pretty nice...
Also made the background a bit darker.
And made the top green instead of red.

[edit]
I added some candy canes to the buttons in the top menu...
Better, worse,... ?

J. Williams

You should add the smf logo cause its looks bad without it

Still way too bright...

I think you could do a snowflake background and use more muted shades of red and green on the forum itself and tone it down some.

Isindrya

This is a good beginning, but I agree: the colour contrast is quite painful on the eyes. The red and the green together could really stand to be toned down -- maybe try a darker burgundy with a neutral olive?
