Merge topics renumbering problem in SMF 1.0x

Hello

There is a problem in SMF 1.0x with the merge topics function, as it creates a topic with a number completely different from the merged ones, so links in other places stop to work.

I know it is solved in SMF 1.1RC1 but I can't upgrade until some vital mods for my forum, like Anguz's Tables from CSV, are available.

The task is to handle "orphan" messages usually sent by new members.

Is there a solution in SMF 1.0x  just for this?
