Re-Install of Forum Problems

Can someone tell me why when I re-installed my forum, and reput my database back into it, I only have activity from May 8th of this year, nothing later???  My forum had massive problems as of yesterday, so I just deleted the folder, re installed it, and linked it to my old database.  But now I don't have any recent posts??  am I to assume I lost those forever???  Also any member that registered after May 8th isn't showing...

If that is your latest back-up of the database then yes all of that information is gone forever unles your host saved it for you in a daily back-up.

This wasn't a backup of my database, this is the actual database my forum was using before it went down.

Deleting your files and uploading new files would not remove posts etc. Unless you accessed your database and removed items from it or cleaned up your database from the admin panel of SMF your database will be the same as before.
