Went for the upgrade -- a partial disaster

Tried the upgrade process a few times from 1.0.5 to 1.1 RC1 -- never really got it working correctly, so had to revert back to the old install with a restored database.  Worst part was, the upgrade script checked out ok and confirmed success.

Here's what we ran into.

Grabbed the RC1 tarball, extracted and uploaded/overwrite the current directory structure.

Ran upgrade.php, everything confirmed success, went back to the forum, took it out of maintenance mode and experienced the following:

- a ton of the default theme images/icons were gone.
- the administrative interface left frame navigation was missing several links and contained blank spaces.

I'll be the first to admit this was done at 1AM in fervent haste with little regard for full direction reading, however, the process seems relatively straightforward and I do not see why these issues would be occuring.

Rather than go try and figure out which files/images were missing and which weren't, we went back to the old install and thought we'd query this exceptional crowd of forum administrators.

Two methods were tried in installing the update package files -- cp/mv style from shell, and standard ftp using Transmit.

Thoughts are appreciated.

Re-upload the Themes directory, as it seems your FTP client choked on a lot of files. The missing links are due to missing language strings (which in turn would be due to missing or incomplete language files).
