where can I find a list where I can see what is different between RC1 and RC2 ?
are the language files (theme->Defualt->language) have changed ?

The language files have changed, and only the ones on the download page saying "rc2" have been updated. The changelog is included in the download page to see what has changed.

I'm asking this because I've been working on a translation for SMF 1.1RC1 for hebrew.
Do I need to throw out all my work, and start all over again ?
can I still use some of the language files I translated for the 1.1RC1 ?
as I mentioned, I was working on files in Themes-->Defualt-->language

You can of course use your RC1 files, just add the new strings in for RC2. We don't have an exact list of the changes made I'm afraid, the best thing to do is to download the english RC1 and RC2 files and do a file compare on them (Use a file comparison tool), for every new string add it to the hebrew file.

I know, we really need to write a tool to help translators do this - if only I had the time

It's under archived releases? You can download the english language package, you needn't get the whole lot.
