According to the SMF upgrade tool, my upgrade is a success, but looking at my forum, I beg to differ: http://www.dccatholicschool.net/forum/

It seems only part of my site made the transfer. Can anyone offer any insight?

Try uploading the /Themes directory again.

Ok, but I failed to mention there's nothing beyond that first page of the forum. If you click the general categories link, nothing is there.  >:( :'(

From what version are you upgrading? Or is this a first install?

the link to the boards and images mentions a directory /forum2

e.g. http://dccatholicschool.net/forum2/Themes/babylon/images/off.gif
http://dccatholicschool.net/forum2/index.php?board=1.0

but the forum is actually linked to /forum

I would check the general path set for the forum itself in Server Settings in the admin panel and also  the theme paths in the adminpanel for a start.

Thank you! I will do that! ;D

I upgraded from RC1 to RC2. I had server issues and used an unused database to upload a fresh installation and called it forum2. When I discovered that smf was not the issue, I then deleted it, or so I thought. I just went into my cPanel and deleted that forum2 database and now I am back to nothing.

I'm a little confused. Upload repair_settings.php (Downloads => tools) and verify everything is correct.
I'm only a half geek really...

I tried that. It didn't work. I gave up and deleted both databases/installations and reinstalled a new one. Now to start the board over.....  :'(

ETA: I did upload a new installation of 1.05 and upgraded to RC2 without a hitch!

I'm sorry this happened. Hope you have more luck with this install.  :-\ You don't have a backup of your previous database anymore?

I have a backup but I have no idea what to do with it.

xenovanis

Did you make this backup before or after you upgraded? In other words, is it a backup of your 1.0.5 or 1.1RC2 forum?

Before. I found a restore backup tool in my cpanel and now it's really messed up.

That doesn't look like a backup? How large was your forum before this happened?

Try uploading all files from the 1.0.5 installationpackage again, except for Settings.php and Settings_bak.php. No need to run install.php.

xenovanis

Don't do that  :D If you are willing to send me your ftp-details, login to your server and phpMyAdmin I will take a look. Also, email me you're databasebackup.
