Converting an SMF Board to an SMF Board

I've just recently installed SMF and converted my phpBB board, afterwords I checked out a lot of the great hacks SMF has and installed quite a few of them. Some of them weren't able to uninstall properly & rather than manually go through the code of at least a dozen hacks I thought might be good, but just didn't work out, I figured there might be an easier way around - recreating the SMF board in a new sub-directory & connecting the databases so that I don't lose any of my new members or posts from after I converted my phpBB board to SMF. Any ideas? Please advise. Thanks.

Download the upgrade download from the downloads page and simply overwrite all the files with the files from that.
