Custom Smiley Sets

Currently all smileys are shared across sets, but where would I find the code to modify it so that if a smiley doesn't exist in a set, instead of getting a text link to insert it, the text link doesn't show up at all - this way, Sets can be completely seperate. I'm running 1.05, and have already looked through Post.php with little luck.

P.S.No chance that there's some sort of smiley vault for personal smiley selection is there? I know there's custom smileys and user selectable sets, but I was just curious if anyone had put together something where each user could select what smileys were in their list from the larger 'smiley bank'. The above question is my big concern tho
