Hi,
This is my first post. I've been reading through the forum trying to get an answer to fix my problem. Just when I was going to give up on converting my xsorbit forum(X5 – PLATINUM Plan) to a SMF on my church's site I found a solution!
By the way SMF is awesome it has freed me from the clutches of xsorbit. I say that because whenever I tried to modify the style.css file it always screwed up on me to where I'd have to reset the whole theme.

Let's not even talk about how they don't give you any options on the themes except for changing colors!
So anyways, I had an existing free xsorbit board which I upgraded to the platinum plan so I could save a .sql backup.(I have very little knowledge of mysql) I then proceded to download a mass text replacer to change all of the prefixes in the backup sql to my new SMF prefix. Then I restored the new edited sql file in mysql. I had version 1.0.6 of SMF but then used the SMF 1.1.rc2 update and during the update it told me that my xsorbit backup was actually YaBB.(sorry I can't remember the version)
From then on my new SMF site worked flawlessly and the forum members don't even know that I moved the forum! Sweeeet! I did, though, have to change a few things from my new forum administration that were still pointing to xsorbit like the forum logo, theme's url, smileys and some other stuff.
It probably is an unorthodox way to get it converted but it worked and I'm happy and thought I should share just in case.
God bless you people for being so helpful and offering this awesome and truly simple machine,

John
