I did and the disk quota db size is not the reason fo rthis error.

Everything worked fine then poof db problems.

Checked and repaired db from phpMyAdmin with no errors, emptied out the error logs etc etc, still no joy tho.

any other suggestions on what could of gone wrong will be great

thanks

Error 122 is related to the disk quota for the MySQL database.  It can also be related to the database size; most *nix have an arbitrary 2gb file size limit.

seems to be a server wide problem.

thanks for the heads up guys

Psyclones

hmm the plot thickens

it seems to be only the smf forums that are effected on the server.

what could cause only them to be effected and not any of the other mysql databases on the server.

this is very bizare.

thanks

Well it might not have been posted in for 20 days! However I am truly sick of the problems that I have had with SMF. Free yes. Error 122 now is my complaint. There are no msql problems on my server can anyone help please.

Thank you

This is a MySQL error, not an SMF error. Either the MySQL server that database is on has run out of space, the tables have gone beyond the size limit the host has imposed, or you have run into a 2 gigabyte filesize maximum on one of the tables. You will need to contact your host on this error.

Thanks Moto but I am the host.

I've checked everything that I can. I was trying another host Micfo. but did not give them the login details to the forum I am talking about. Also another Forum which I just spent many hours setting up also has an error in it.

Please try again. If you come back to this error screen, report the error to an administrator.

I run I reseller plan and these folks recently cut me dead with nothing wrong my end. This was sorted out a few days ago and now this? Getting tired of it though. I spend hours on design and getting 'look and feel' right and each time I have problems. Both forums are soccer/Footy related and although I hate to say this I do feel that these site alone cannot be just circumstance.
Another phpbb forum was not affected on my server.

Ideas?
Thanks.

Well, I guess we need to break out each problem.

Also, as a note, design stuff is not affected by the database. Just keep the files handy.

So, from your last post, we have two seperate installs with two different problems.

The first problem is a fairly generic error message. Now, the best thing to try to do is see if you can grab the server error logs and see if anything is shown. Also, when did the error start?

The second error seems to be a MySQL error message, or am I incorrect?

Thanks Motoko.

This started some time back I think? I in fact had two themes folders which were connected. What I think happened is this. I restored a database but at the time was not aware that it had to be sql only. The file was a zip file which took an eternity to load but it did?

After this time which was months ago now we had constant problems.

The second point was in fact resolved. It was server related and account totals were incorrect? I have no idea why this occurred which resulted in wiping out all space on my server. It has only happened once before but am looking into it now.

Thanks very much for you reply.
Best regards.

If all the zip file had was the sql file, and if you uploaded that backup through phpMyAdmin, then that was fine. phpMyAdmin can handle zip files (if the right things are set up on the server).

Assuming that the zip was like I said it was, there is the possibility the restore didn't finish, or some of the file got corrupted. That could certainly cause you issues. The first thing I would check, however, is if the problems still happen with the default theme (so we can mostly rule out a code problem).
