Almost finished tweaking code ...

I am almost finished tweaking code for my forum.  Still got an issue, though.

I am trying to make the background of the menu buttons black like the rest of the background in my forum.

I have tried everything, edited the css definitions for the button rendering and behaviour and actually filled in the transparent areas in the maintab_xxxx.gif with black, but with no success.

Here are screencaps of the areas that I am trying to change and how they look:





Any clue as to what I'm doing wrong, or, not doing at all?

There you should edit the "images"
