Slow SMF load time.

SMF Version: SMF 1.0.1
I'm pretty new to this SMF software, and in general this type of advanced server stuff.

The board loads VERY slow sometimes, and sometimes I get a 404 message.  I'm using 1.0, since thats what godaddy.com offered for installation. I I have no idea how to update the software.  Would it benefit me to try to upgrade my version?

I've upgraded to the latest version, and the board is running 100% better.

You are going to hit slow times with godaddy no matter what. Even if you say it is running better, there will be times when it is slow. Maybe you are ok with that, but I am not at all thats why I am changing hosts. I hate godaddy.
