SMF Version: SMF 1.1 RC2
I have moved from vBulletin to this engine several days ago and since then get a lot of troubles with moderation. Yes, I have searched through the community but didn't find answer. When I select messages in moderator mode it always gets the message ile this:

Lost connection to MySQL server during query
File: /usr/local/www/guitarplayer.ru/http/forum/Sources/Subs.php
Line: 419

OR

Lost connection to MySQL server during query
File: /usr/local/www/guitarplayer.ru/http/forum/Sources/Subs.php
Line: 419
MySQL server has gone away
File: /usr/local/www/guitarplayer.ru/http/forum/Sources/Load.php
Line: 1886

I found that the most errors appears when the message contains graphical attachments (one or above). I think that the problem is tat this version of SMF is not compatible with MySQL 5.x. Is it tested with this version?

Please help!

My config:

PHP Version 5.1.1
Apache/2.2.0 (FreeBSD) DAV/2 PHP/5.1.1
MySQL  5.0.18

And it doesn't matter which type of connection I use: persistent or not.

I'm not sure that it depends on the size. These errors appears immediately after trying to remove or edit the message (without any delay).

Another bug: when i'm trying to remove message (just simple - without any attachments) the error appears:

Error: Lost connection to MySQL server during query
File: /usr/local/www/guitarplayer.ru/http/forum/Sources/Subs.php
Line: 419

Message deleted successfully but the error appears.

same problem here...  i did as the other thead suggested and edited my RemoveTopics.php , but same problems are now appearing with other functions so i have disabled attachments on the boards until this is fixed.

can you please detail all the files that must be altered with the workaround and what exactly needs to be changed?

thanks!

It seems that we are several with similar problems with connection breaks and bad perfomance. It would be necessary to detect that we have in common those that fail to us that they do not have those works perfect.
