My message database lost about 300 messages for some unknown reason. I do have my backup mysql files sitting in phpmyadmin. Is it possible to just rename the old ones to replace the current ones? And if so which files would I rename so as not to lose the new members that have joined since the backup. Or is this even the right way to approach it? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks ahead of time.

Hi,

Actually, all you need to do is replace the posts, topics, and posts_text tables; (just rename the current ones, then restore those). That way, config, users, etc, etc will still be in tact.

Thank you for the reply! My files had a bit different names. Maybe because its been up the path from yabbse. But it helped for sure!
