Do you guys plan on keeping the news feature that YaBB had?  I use this feature heavily on my forum and that would be a killer if it got lost!

That's a relief!    Syntax looks identical.

I did modify my news.php so I could ask it to start at a particular message instead of only at the most recent.  Maybe you guys could just stick this into the standard version?    What I used it for was to allow articles (that are actually just forum posts) to be displayed on a specially formatted page, I just needed a way to link them out.

Like [Unknown] said, icon has always been there. As for the read more thing, this was actually done a lot on yabbse boards. Really easy to do...It's like three extra lines to news.php if I remember right...

Cool.  Kind of embarrassing though...    

Here's another idea that I implemented manually.  Have a flag to only actually display the first paragraph.  The user can click a link to view the entire message.
