Swear Filter issues

The swear filter permanently replaces text in a message to it's "clean" form.  I find this functionality to be an issue as I'm using it to create HTML templates of notices I commonly need to insert into threads.  The "curse" keywords are turned into HTML, and if I need to change the message again, I need to delete the HTML and reinsert those keywords again.

What I'd rather see is that the curse filter acts dynamically, so that as it's displayed, all the text replacement.  Maybe it could even be optional for forums with limited resources or high load.
