Un-used function in Recent.php?

function getLastPost()

I can't locate anywhere that this function is called. There is

function getLastPosts()

which is used, but getLastPost seems to be not used anywhere. Am I wrong?
It is defined in recent.php in 1.1 RC2

I also couldn't find a use of it IIRC.  But does it matter whether it's used or not used?

On any decent host the compiled code is optimised and cached, and on development machine it won't make a difference.  The time being wasted on it, if it is indeed unused, is less then the time we spend on discussing it.

It doesn't pose a problem to be there. But codes that never executes is a bit- strange... I think it was on an old version, but not used now.
