Personal messages and buddies

Hi All 

I have a site that uses mambo 4.5.3 with SMF Forum Integrated into it.

It is important that I can restrict posting of personal messages only to members who have the sender in the buddy list, as the site is used by very young children as well as older teenagers.

Does anyone know if this is possible and I have missed the obvious?

Else does anyone know of a modification that does this or something similar?

Else can anyone suggest a simple hack of some kind?

I'm not sure if it's an eay mod but I think a user can choose that themself in SMF 1.1 RC2

No that does not seem to be an option unfortunately. I think I will have to try a hack. Anyone got a clue where to start looking?
