Locating the File that actually Displays the Post

Of all the forums I've used in the past, for some reason I find SMF the most difficult to modify.  I'm not sure why.  But, something relatively simple like this- I cant find it.. 

I'm trying to find what file SMF (1.0.7) displays the actual posted message in.  I have one of my forums as a news board, and I dont want it to show avatars, or extra stuff (just the news post under the forum header). 

What file is that located in?

I believe, settings.template.php

That information is located in Display.Template.php
If you have several skins or themes installed, you have to look for that in every template display.template.php file.
