SMF Version: SMF 1.1 RC2
I have some tables in my database from an old backup, ones that look like this:  "backup_smf_zodiac"
Can I delete these with no problem. ???

Trekkie101

Aslong as your forum isn't set to use them then yes.

I recomend backing up before trying though :)

Bigguy

Where or how do I tell if the forum is using them. I have other tables that are like: smf_zodiac and there are alot more of those tables (smf_) than there are of the backup tables.

Ben_S

Look in settings.php, if the prefix isn't backup_ then you aren't using them.

Ok the database prefix is smf_ so it should be fine to get rid of them right ??? After I make a backup.

Ben_S

Yep, you can delete them. It's always good to make a backup just in case you screw up.

Always, I don`t do anything without a backup. I`m not a confident person when it comes to databases. I figured that there was 161 tables in there, some from my old mkportal install and then the backups so I figured I`d get rid of some. Thanks for your helps guys. :)
