I am using the very neat smFox theme.  I have added an iframe into the index.template.php file to display my CJ Tagboard - shoutbox.  Such an iframe can be placed in any theme really.  I am now using the iframe that initially held the CJ Tagboard to display an auto-refreshing (every 45 seconds) topic display.  This is ideal for viewing replies to any post you have made as you can just sit back and keep an eye on the monitor whilst waiting for a reply instead of loading the forum over and over.  You can read how I did this here:
