does 1.14 bridge affect simple login

What is the proper way to set up a login page for users that will authenticate properly and put users on the joomla front page..not the forum

The includes login does not suit my purposes as I need them to login and go directly to the joomla front page

Go to your Joomla admin panel.  Go to the Modules menu.  Click on Site Modules.

Find mod_smf_login in the list of modules.  It might not be on the first page.  When you find it, click on it.

Set the Login Redirect param to "Back to the Joomla homepage".

Click Save.
