Problem removing IP addresses on posts for non-admins

Apologies in advance if this isn't the proper forum for this question.

We recently upgraded to 1.1 RC2 and lost a bunch of modifications. Among them was deleting the IP address stuff in nonadmins' posts.

I just tried to recreate the mod by deleting the relevant code from display.template.php in the "default" folder (we use the "loonpeach" theme), but the IP address is still showing up in nonadmins' own posts.

Ideally, we'd like the word "logged" to be erased from all nonadmin posts as well.

Is something else/different required to get this effect? We still want IPs to show up for admins.
