Should I remove the 2.0 language update then?

Illori

no but you need to make sure the mods have utf8 language files or you would need to create them.

davegior

Not sure if I understand how to do that.
Thank you Illori for your help

Illori

do you have a reason for using the utf8 language? if not then i would say it is fine to use the normal language.

davegior

No I don't, I'll try to select just English and see what happens.

davegior

Okay switched to English ISO. Do I still have to modify anything for Mods, still getting errors.
Noticed that only half of my members were swithced to English ISO and the other half remained at utf8
A couple are using foreign language

Illori

you should post in the mods support threads for further help on the errors, the authors would know best what would fix it.

did you reset the default language?

admin -> languages -> settings default forum language

Yes I did, It is set to English

Kays

Hi, davegior. :)

If you go to the page you downloaded the mod from. Under the the link to download the mod is a "Parse" button. Click on that and it should show you the edits made by that mod including the language strings added. Just re-add those strings to the appropriate language files. Since the non-UTF-8 English language strings are loaded first by default it shouldn't be necessary to add them to the English UTF-8 files.

If at first you don't succeed, use a bigger hammer. If that fails, read the manual.

Thanks Kay for your help as well.
I have several mods so I'm not sure which one is causing the problem.

Kays

That's an anti spam mod I think. http-BL

But it might be an idea to go though all of them to check if they added any language strings and to re-add them.

Not to go through the hassle of looking through code, I restored my original theme files and the errors have stopped.
I was getting about a thousand every 15 minutes.

Thank you for all your help.
Have a Happy New Year

Kays

Since you have a backup, that works also. :)

And a happy new year to you.

The only reason I updated was because my Language files showed that they were ver. 1.1

Kays

That's strange. There have been major changes made to the  the languaguge files in 2.0 and your error log would of been full of undefined index errors if that was the case.

What version are they showing at right now?
