I'm with eldacar 100% there!  Advertising (Google etc) tends to bring in mostly trolls, word of mouth brings you good members who will make THEIR site (to my mind you just provide the structure of it, they provide the content, so in a way it's their site.) a place where people want to be, and you proud to be the leader of the group.  Also don't get too caught up in numbers, quality counts more.  I've been on sites with memberships in the thousands where the same 15 people are the only ones who ever post, and drivel at that, wheras I've also been on sites with just 100 or so members most of who'm seem to post, and interesting worthwhile posts at that, rather than just inane spam.

Oh and something else that is important, your site needs an identity.  Most of the more succesful sites that I have seen have had a name that people feel that they can identify with, and use as a banner to rally under so to speak.

Thoughts are free, it's their consequences that often have a cost.

I did not even notice how old it was, lol...

I noticed one of the topics I started had a lot of views. So I clicked the link at the top of the views so it sorted all topic by the most views. I then see this topic and posted a reply without even looking to see the age of it, sorry. :)

Next time I will know to look, lol...
