Yeah, something is going on. I took care of what was doing the severe lag last night, but the processes look good right now. Might just be everyone downloading the update and being active on here.

Thanks for the update, devs. Upgrade went as smooth as usual. :) Six copies of the announcement was a bit overkill, though. ;D

Just out of curiosity, when 2.x goes production instead of beta, is that upgrade going to be just as easy, or is it going to be a world of hurt to established forums?

Well, most mods will require a rewrite, and so will themes, so upgrading to SMF 2.0 will probably take a bit more effort. But upgrading SMF has always went smooth for me, compared to other forum software. :)

rsw, the packages have been regenerated and the missing htmlspecialchars is now there.

For anyone who already upgraded, if you used the full packages from the download site, you may wish to download it again, or you can patch it yourself.

You are not affected by this if you upgraded using the package manager

I just downloaded the full 1.1.4 install and it is still missing the htmlspecialchars.

I wanted to hand apply the patch to match sure it didn't interfere with changes I've made that how I noticed it as I did a diff from my site to the 1.1.4 full install.

I noticed one other issue. I would create a new thread but I think this is still dealing with the above.

In Sources/Subs-Post.php line 920 in 1.1.3 it was $entityConvert("\1"). 1.1.4 full shows \'1\' and the patch shows \'\1\'. Notice closely that the 1.1.3 and the patch both are \1 and 1.1.4 full is just 1. Which is correct? I'm assuming the \1.

Wow I'm surprised theres two more that are the opposite they are in the source but didn't make it into the patch. How can something be released with this many mishaps.

In Sources\Post.php the patch doesn't include the change to make all the edit_disable_time statements have the extra 5 minutes.

Same with line 2298 didn't make it into the patch.
'body' => strtr(stripslashes($msgOptions['body']), array(']]>' => ']]]]><![CDATA[>')),

Should I just create a thread will a list off these problems?

rsw686, please send me a PM with the inconsistencies.

Please do realize that this was a rush release.

Thanks.

Though we did some extensive checking, some last minute changes must've caused small differences between the patch and the downloadable version. Feel free to PM me any more changes you might find and I'll try to see if I can fit them in.

(this time metallica beat me to it :))

Well, I got five.... Thank you... I might be slow but I did get the message by the time fourth Announcement arrived...

I upgraded my test site, no problems, but I guess I'll wait with my live site until all kinks are sorted out. No rush I suppose ;)

I upgraded manually and everything's fine.
Thankk you!

btw, I admit I just disabled the warning message in Pn-Pn theme (it displayed warning messages about language files that, according to the theme, were not up to date, but they were, so I told him to shut up and I'm glad it does not complain about version numbers now :) ).

The package you are trying to download or install is either corrupt or not compatible with this version of SMF.

I got the same error message, but then I just uploaded it mannualy (through FTP) to /Packages/ directory, CHMOD-ed it to 777 and then installed it from the Package Manager of the Adnin CP. Worked like charm. :)

Tarek

Still waiting for the Version 2 to go out for the rest of us :)

anyway , i think the most important upgrades needs to be worked out are the SEO .

Put these comments in a more on-topic place please. I'd hate to be required to lock the topic.

How exactly would I upgrade my mysql databases so smf is updated it there, without losing any information in there?

Snakehit

Hi, I'm new to SMF and had a question:

When I use the automatic-upgrade system from 1.1.3 to 1.1.4 will the files be overwritten or would they merge? Like I see, Sources/Display.php is edited and I did some editing stuff in Display.php, so I'm scared to lose everything.

If they get overwritten, what is the best solution to prevent this and still execute the update?

青山 素子

If you use the package manager system, this update will act like any other mod you install on your system.

brianjw, there are no database changes between 1.1.3 and 1.1.4, just file changes.

Except I am not sure if my database has ever been updated... How do I know if it's been updated or not? Or figure out what the version is?

licheng

Thanks! :)

My question is, where can I download SMF 1.0.12? :P
