Sorry, SMF was unable to connect to the database. This may be caused by the server being busy. Please try again later.

i tried the repair settings but it just go 404

any sugestions?

JimM

Are you uploading the repair_settings.php file into the same directory as your SSI.php?  You shouldn't be getting a 404 with repair_settings.

I don't know a lot about this, sombra, except to tell you what happened to me.

Back when I first went over to a dedicated server and set up my different web sites, I neglected to check the box next to www and, as a result, the only way to pull up any of my sites was to do it without www.  If the average surfer tried to go to a site by putting www, the site wouldn't come up.  I called my server and told them that I wanted to be able to have my sites come up with or without www and the tech was able to make a simple change to my settings that solved this issue.

My case wasn't exactly like yours is, but the point I'm making is that a call to your server asking them about the www issue might get you a favorable result.

:)

ETA:  But I see you can access it now on another computer so it must be a cache thing.

:)
My apologies, but I am taking a break from accepting PM requests for support.  If I am not currently assisting you, please do not ask as long as this notice is posted.  Thank you.

Please try cleaning your browser cache, then try again. Though I suspect it's actually related to the DNS cache. It might solve itself within several hours.

That's one of my problem to...try to have some tips on this post..

Tyrsson

There could be a couple things going wrong here at the same time during a move which is why its important to be patient.

1) As has been stated. When setting up a server (especially using a cpanel software) if you do not include the setting where the software will include the ServerAlias directive in the apache config then your server will only answer to the base name used to name the server. This issue is beyond the scope of support that can be provided here.

2) The pretty url mod could in fact be causing a problem since the .htaccess file was written while on the other server. If the new server configuration doesn't match exactly it will cause a problem. Could easily be caused by problem that I addressed in the above.

3) As posted before.. Be patient if you have just moved your site as different ISP's DNS caches will renew at different rates. Which means that you may not be able to see the site from computer, but a friend that has a different ISP may be able to see it. If this is the problem and you start changing server config you could actually break the site and not know it. If you changed the name server info for the @record linked to your domain name you should give it at least 24 hours before changing any server configuration to make sure the DNS has had time to propagate and your ISP's cache to update. Sometimes it can actually take longer and I have seen where host caution you to wait a full 72 hours before changing server config.
PM at your own risk, some I answer, if they are interesting, some I ignore.
