Dears,

Ik know that it was possible to change all of the heads in one topic with selecting the topic in de upper-board, changing the name of the topic, and hit Enter. That would change ALL heads in that topic.

Did something changed with the update to 2.0.15 I did?

ho can help me?

Thanks a lot.

@rjen

I am pretty sure that was never possible to do (in one step)... it is possible in a workaround though...

Use [Move Topic] instead.

In the move you can choose to Change the topic's subject. and the tick the box: Change every message's subject..
Move the topic and all messages will get the new title....

Unfortuntely the topic will be in another board...

then move it back to the original board without changing the title....

Hallo Arjen,

Thanks for your answer.

As sure as you are it never was possible, as sure am I it was.... I used this hundred of times, and it worked as as a charm.
Since a while it doesn't work no more.

But, your workaround does the job to, so I'll settle with that (for the moment  :))

Many thanks for your answer!

Greetings,

Theo

hello Shambles,

is there an installer or do I have to change all files bij hand?

How can I execute the install.xml

I'm not familiar with xml-files, can only read them with codelobster.

I also have a Dutch Mod installed I think. We are a Dutch forum. I can find Modifications.dutch.php besides Modifications.english.php.

Is it enough to change the English version of this php?

Thanks.

That's a strange query, given the text in your profile says "19 years happy working with SMF".  Have you never installed a mod in those 19 years?

Hello Shambles,

Working with SMF doesn't mean I work on the software. But this time (and with a good backup) I was willing to give it a try.

Before I noticed the link to the package manager I already started to change files manually.

This went well. Untill.....

I think there is a fault in the "Change All Subjects - Installatie instructies voor 2.0.15"

In the file \\Sources\Subs-Posts.php there is a ad-performance to do:

QuoteFind:
global $user_info, $modSettings, $smcFunc, $context
Ad after:
, $txt, $language

In the file there are 3 items with the name ""global $user_info, $modSettings, $smcFunc, $context; ""
And adding the "" , $txt, $language, $txt, $language "" gives an error on my site:
QuoteExpext ' or ;
notice the ; at the end of the original frase. If you just AD the string to the original, you get:
Quoteglobal $user_info, $modSettings, $smcFunc, $context;, $txt, $language
I changed this in:
Quoteglobal $user_info, $modSettings, $smcFunc, $context, $txt, $language;
and all went well then.
I did this to the 3 strings. Hope I was right so....  :o

Thank you for your help!

And thank to every one who is involved in making such a great program. Many thanks to you to, @rjen  ;)

Greetings,

Theo

knock, knock,

I'm back for more help :-[

None of the files I have changed give me troubles, the forum is still runnig smouth.

But the actual "Change All subjects" does not work, or I do wrong.

Can some one explain me the methode? Or is there a setting in the Permissions or so that has to be turned on?

Thanks.

@rjen

Did you activate the feature?

QuoteDescription:
This modification adds an option to change the subjects of all messages in a topic. When the first message of a topic is being modified by a member that has suitable permissions, a checkbox for enabling the feature appears under the Additional Options.

If your issue is about the mod I mentioned, please ask in the support topic for that mod. Thanks.

Hello Shambles, @rjen and Illori,

Thank you very much for your help.

It seems that a programmer changed the SMF code in an old SMF-version we ran at that time.
That made the Change All subjects possible without the MOD.
Installing SMF 2.0.15 errased or overwrite that settings and was no longer available for me. There my question here.

I'm happy that it all works now with the MOD.

Copied the part about the bug in the "Change All Subjects - Installatie instructies voor 2.0.15" to the MOD-Board.

Many thanks to all...
