I really love this theme. I like how you actually put a massive amount of effort into customizing. This theme has been edited to the point that you can't even recognize the SMF.

Don't take this comment the wrong way though- I am still looking for a theme suitable for my forums. If you understand what I mean  ;)

Wow, VERY COOL theme 8), and lots of great features. The tabbed info section at the bottom of the index is great.

Have you considered releasing the theme in different colurs. Personally I would like to see a pale blue version :)

Good work, keep it up. I hope to see more designs from yourself

Oldiesmann

Very nice as always :)

Will add it to my test board later.

I would love to hear them.

Okay :)

  • The little images next to "Moderator" and "Child Boards" in the Boardindex, look somewhat crappy. It'd look much better if you'd use something like an arrow, a bullet, or any other graphic there. Perhaps you can give the moderators icon a blue colour and the child boards icon a green-ish colour like the rest of the board.
  • The statistics center is brilliant. I love it, it looks great. However, every time you click on it, it changes height and messes the screen out of balance. I'd have to say, it would be a lot more practical and look a lot slicker if you'd give that block one standard height and perhaps a scrollbar.
  • The text at the top is still Georgia. It would probably look better if you used a font similar to the font used for SMFone.
  • In the Display template, the avatar of each post is centered. To be honest, that makes the avatar have way too much importance in the composition. I'd much rather see it to the left or the right, so it doesn't dominate the screen as much.
Other than those little details, I still say... awesome work man!

I'm with Burpee on this one, but the only thing stopping me from using this theme is the fact that I would prefer the avator/etc to be on the left.

This is the best skin I've seen and would love to able to change that avatar format. Is there a quick fix for this?

Thanks .. glad you like the theme.

[-]The idea for them were to look like a tree.
[-]The problem is I can't control the amount of on-line members and recent topics.
[-]I would think so. I'll see if Arial or other fonts will look nicer.
[-]My fist try was putting the Avy on the left, but it made the section wider than I want. Yes I tried to move some elements from the left to the middle, but decided that they were important left as they are now.

I'm really glad you took the time to suggest those.

I've uploaded a new Display.template.php , to the first post , that will uses the same look as the default one. You can use it to override the one with the theme.
Really sorry .. real life is demanding my full attention .. will be back soon hopefully :)

The idea for them were to look like a tree.
I already thought so, however, when there's just the "moderator" icon, it seems like it has been cut off.
Just try my suggestion and see how it looks. I'm personally convinced it'll look cleaner.

The problem is I can't control the amount of on-line members and recent topics.
I know, but would it be possible to use "overflow: auto;"?

I would think so. I'll see if Arial or other fonts will look nicer.

I can understand that, it's naturally off-balance because the profile information and the post content are about the same size. Perhaps a few extra pixels between every post and a little added height to the post content would help? Anyway, even if it doesn't, setting a smaller maximum avatar size will also help.
I also just thought of something I saw on 127.0.0.1's forum a while ago, look at it here.

Very nice theme indeed :)

My only complaint would be the placement of the avatar/user info. Imo it steals too much focus and takes up too much screen realestate.

@AMA
On a side note. Im looking at migrating from phpBB to SMF at present for at least for one board i admin, and my biggest issue with SMF at this point is the lack of a good theme (yes im a picky bastard, ask Douglas. No offence intended to the other great artists and theme designers here)
Your theme is the first one ive seen that has really caught my eyes, unfortunately there are some things i would like to do to make it suit my needs, most notably color changes and adjusting the display of avatar/userinfo in threads.
What is your view on people using your theme as a base for new ones, especially with regards to graphics. Its your work, and you deserve full credit for it, and if you dont want anyone to use it as a base i fully respect that

P.S, one small thing ive noticed is that SMFone will not work well with mambohacks SMF bridge in wrapped mode. Things like the admin and help area cannot be opened unless its set to standalone mode.
Whoops! Did i break that?

A.M.A

Sure .. would love to see variant of this theme, and in case you need any help just say so.
I did not install the mambo bridge, so I cant really now what is causing the problem. But it from your post my best guess is the codes in the menu links. I only deleted the use of buttons and added the icons.

Thanks.

How about the attached images .. and I may need to use the overflow for other parts as well.

I would also love to see this in other colors!  Green is very nice, but it wouldnt match my site.

I would love to see light orange or light blue! :)

Awesome work!

charlottezweb

I moved the avatar on my site a few days ago as well.  The only issue I have is that many users don't use an avatar.  For those people, the left area reserved for it is blank leaving the membername/stats indented which looks weird.  I guess I could code it to set a colspan of 2 for that first cell in these cases, or maybe a default avatar that would always be selected unless you override it is easier?  Any suggestions?

I've added the Dutch translation for this theme to the first post ;)

Thanks for the effort .. I updated the first post and hosted them in my site.

Thanks .. am currently working on a red one .. I may make some more later.

charlottezweb
Oh you did it already .. nice job.
I'm almost done with the new display design .. with the options to show an empty place holder, a default avatar or none for those that did not pick any.

Thanks, glad you like the theme.

Wonderful .. thanks for making them.

Everything's looking great so far! I think its safe to say everyone here appreciates the time and effort you're putting into this theme and it shows. I can't wait to see further improvements!

There only *one* thing that I'd like to fix, it's not a big deal but it clutters up the error log:

8: Undefined index: calendar_start_day
File: /home/public_html/Themes/SMFone/Calendar.template.php (eval?)
Line: 38

Am I the only one getting that error or is everyone getting it as well? Is this a template issue or SMF issue? Though the calendar seems to be working and I'm not getting any IE script errors.

NayNay

I've been trying to add Online Users Today to this fabu template and I am stumped.  Can anyone help?
